Our Commitment

Pasco County Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 4420 expects members, volunteers, event participants, supporters, and visitors engaging with our organization or website to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner. This Code of Conduct reflects the values of our union, our profession, and the community we serve.

Expected Conduct

  • Treat others with respect, professionalism, and courtesy at all times.
  • Support an environment that is safe, welcoming, and free from intimidation, harassment, or discrimination.
  • Communicate honestly and responsibly in person, online, and through union-related platforms or events.
  • Follow all posted rules, event requirements, and instructions when participating in union, charity, PAC, or community activities.
  • Represent IAFF Local 4420 in a manner that reflects positively on the fire service, our membership, and the public trust.
  • Respect event venues, equipment, donated property, and the personal property of others.
  • Use good judgment in public comments, social media activity, and interactions connected to the organization.

Unacceptable Conduct

  • Harassment, threats, abusive language, bullying, or personal attacks.
  • Discriminatory conduct or hateful behavior based on protected characteristics or personal identity.
  • Disruptive, unsafe, or reckless behavior during meetings, events, fundraisers, tournaments, or online interactions.
  • Misuse of union-related communications, branding, platforms, or event spaces.
  • Conduct that damages the reputation, operations, safety, or integrity of IAFF Local 4420 or affiliated activities.
  • Any unlawful behavior or refusal to follow reasonable instructions from organizers, union leadership, or designated representatives.

Website and Digital Conduct

Users interacting with IAFF4420.org, linked forms, merchandise pages, event registration tools, or social media channels associated with the organization are expected to use those platforms responsibly. Spam, fraudulent submissions, offensive content, impersonation, or misuse of any site feature or communication channel is prohibited.

Events and Public Activities

This Code of Conduct applies to union meetings, public events, fundraisers, charity programs, PAC-related efforts, volunteer activities, and other gatherings hosted, organized, or promoted by IAFF Local 4420. Additional event-specific rules, waiver requirements, or venue policies may also apply and must be followed.

Response to Violations

IAFF Local 4420 reserves the right to address conduct that violates this Code of Conduct in a manner it deems appropriate based on the situation. This may include removal from an event, restriction from participation, removal of comments or submissions, denial of access to digital platforms, or referral to appropriate leadership or authorities when necessary.

Scope

This page is intended to set expectations for conduct related to the organization’s website, events, programs, and public-facing activities. It does not replace any applicable union bylaws, employer policies, event waivers, venue rules, or legal obligations that may also govern conduct in specific situations.
